McCoy, a chassis builder by trade, will jump into competition full swing with his Andy McCoy Race Cars built 1957 Chevy Shoebox. McCoy will have sponsorship support from Percy’s High Performance (www.percyshp.com ) a company that specializes in unique products for the high performance industry.
McCoy states, “ All the people at Percy’s are top of the line people and produce quality products. I will represent them to my team’s fullest potential. I use many of their products at my shop on a day to day basis and their product is second to none”.

DSC00159.jpgMcCoy will compete in his rookie year in professional competition with the support of his father and team owner Stan McCoy. “My Dad has been there for me since the beginning. Now he has helped provide an opportunity to live a dream. I can’t thank him enough. Team partner Tim Branson also has been a huge inspiration for us. We plan to bring out a second car in the near future that he will be driving. That will make this venture only that much more exciting”, said an anxious McCoy.
The AMRC Pro Mod team will do some pre-season testing before heading to the IHRA opener in San Antonio, TX. Crew chief Lance Headrick will have his work cut out for him as he faces the heavy hitters on the IHRA circuit.
Headrick says, “We have the best equipment a team could want. Andy has built us an awesome car and Jeff Fowler has provided us with the Hemi horsepower needed to be a contender. Hopefully we can get the combination sorted out in our pre-season test sessions to be a contender throughout the season”.
McCoy would like to thank his team members most of all because with out all their endless hours of dedication and hard work he could not fulfill this dream. He states, “My brother Ryan of 1320 Media has done all the graphics and website design for not only my business, but also the race team. Phil Reichardt III of Phine Designs will be our Cylinder Head specialist; Chris Clarke (shop foreman at AMRC) will be the Lower End Specialist, as well as Stan McCoy, team owner, Tim Branson, team partner, Lance Headrick, crew chief. These guys are the ones that are making it all happen for our team”.
